Graphs (graph databases like neo4j) offer significant added value compared to traditional modeling tools. Exceptionally good performance and flexibility enable the dynamic generation of any situation-specific "views" (keyword: "system boundaries"). When used correctly, the possibilities of graphs extend far beyond simply "drawing" diagrams.
With its Graph Designer, semantic PDM offers a tool for designing and building such a data platform. Using a prototype module called "MBE," it demonstrates how the design of and browsing through "functional models" can be done using an intuitive, browser-based application.
A smooth transition between abstract modeling of requirements and functions and concrete work with components and bills of materials allows fast and transparent tracing from one “world” to the other and back.
Product development of intelligent technical systems (ITS) is becoming increasingly challenging due to increasing complexity, interdisciplinarity, and shorter development cycles. Systems engineering (SE) enables companies to address these challenges. Many companies have recognized the potential and are in the process of embedding it company-wide.
We would be happy to discuss the results with the participants after the presentation.
Every participant is cordially invited to take part.
