I personally spend at least 30 minutes in my car every day. That easily adds up to over 100 hours a year. With audiobooks and podcasts, you can use this driving time wisely for continuing education. Continuing education is essential, especially for engineers. This is where the wheat separates from the chaff. All the excellent engineers I know read books or blogs, listen to lectures, and also devote their free time to their profession. In this blog post, I would like to recommend a podcast that I personally find very good and that also motivated me to start my own blog.
My recommendation
Anyone interested in Systems Engineering should definitely take the Future Architects Podcast Listen. Maik Pfingsten is the person behind the podcast. He is an author, mentor, speaker, and systems engineering evangelist. Since February 2012, he has been sharing his knowledge and experience from over 12 years as a troubleshooter in this podcast. And I highly recommend it. With over 100 podcasts, he explores various interesting topics that can help you in your job. The topics are complex and varied. I find his "System Footprint" method, which allows you to quickly gain an overview of a system, very interesting and effective. His tips for troubleshooting, approaches in systems engineering, agility, tools, and interesting conversation partners also make the podcast absolutely worth listening to. Anyone who is particularly interested in the topic of creating specifications can take a look at lastenhefterstellen.deMaik has dedicated this platform specifically to this topic. The platform serves all freelancers and solopreneurs. lifestyleentrepreneur.de.
I personally enjoy listening to the episodes while driving. It's truly impressive what you can listen to and learn while driving. I also enjoy reading, but it's not always easy for me to find the time. That's why podcasts and audiobooks are an ideal complement for me.
What are you listening to?
If you also listen to podcasts or know of any good audiobooks, I'd be happy to hear your recommendations. I'd be happy to feature them here on the blog.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss your ideas with me, I'm happy to help and advise you. I welcome feedback and would love for you to contact me.
Best regards
